Gatorskins for the win!!!!!!  No punctures in 3 years on my gators. I tried GP4000s a year ago. Punture on first ride.... Never again

I just don't like the way contis wear. They tend to go very square or flat down the middle. I have now had 2 other brand tyres that haven't worn that way.

As for punctures - I had the most punctures during my time on gatorskins. I say its all bad luck and trying not to ride through al sorts of crap on the road surface. GP4000s on a race wheelset should be ok.

GP4000S II

On average around 5 punctures over 10 000km of use.

If you want to have the WORST puncture proof tyre, you go for the "new" and "fast" Vittoria Graphine.

There was a week that I had 6 punctures in 3 days in December.

Not cheap either.

I am keen to try out the new Michelin tyres.....

Tyre pressure is also dependant on tyre size. I'm 67kg and run my tyres as follows:

23c tyres: 7 bar

25c tures: 6.5 bar

If one is heavier, then just increase the pressures slightly.

So you are one of those oaks that can't corner?

Well if you are honest there is not really a huge amount of corners on many of the rides/routes/races around so you tend to ride on the middle of the tyre more than leaning it over no matter how hardcore you think you can corner.

The triple compound tyres just seem to wear better and hold their shape better due to the slightly harder compound down the middle - this is not a feature of the gatorskins so they tend to wear a bit wear flatter on their single compound.

tubeless on these? they worth the spendoolahs?

If I may add I have a set of the non-tubeless Schwalbe One tyres. You get both tubeless and non. Not sure about the tubeless ones - haven't tried them myself. I like the feel of them. Very comfortable, was the same price as GP4000SII.
