Seems quite a few people are suggesting Light-Bicycle as a budget options. I melted the braking surface on mine descending from the mountain top finish of the Tour of Good Hope. Suddenly not so confident about that option anymore.

That's the reason I would only use them with disc brakes. I hated my carbon wheels with rim brakes, after the first few months of use braking was not a pleasant pastime.

You cannot beat the major wheel manufacturers when it comes to braking surfaces.

Quite a few folks mentioning Meilensteins. From all of the pics I can find these look like they're a V shaped rim, different to the way every other company is going for aero wheels. From what I read, the V shape is necessary due to the build. Given this, it would be interesting to know how they actually feel.

http://road.cc/content/review/171791-lightweight-meilenstein-tubular-wheelset also states that Lightweight don't actually make any aero claims about the wheels.

They certainly are lighter:

Meilensteins: 1180g

Bora One 50: 1485g

Bora Ultra 50: 1435g

Zipp 303: 1625g

Mavic Cosmic Pro SL (40 mm): 1433g

Roval CLX 40mm: 1375g (I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but also a nice comparison even though Spez wheels on a Colnago seems wrong)

Lightweight...

I looked at them, make no mistake.

Best price I could get them for was R67k. They are cool, but to be honest, this bike is going to get raced hard and those wheels seem more like ones I would one day hang on my wall.

Boras, just not sure if I want 35 or 50s.

Heart says 50s kop says 35s

Put a 50 on the back and a 35 on the front. Say you took the inspiration from Enve!

Edit: But really just get the 50s.

38 fromt / 50 rear is what I've got. Find it works well in most conditions

I ride a 404 rear and 303 front, being a light rider, I feel this is best for me!
