Okes, road shoes are made for road riding. There is no traction on them for walking as you will do on a mtb some or other time.

If you are going to ride on tne road only with your mtb, well then it should be okay.

excellent advise. Any portage or river crossing in road shoes is suicidal. Might as well do it in stilettos.

thanks guys i asked because im looking at getting a tri shoe, but there isnt much variety with off road tri shoes and all my bikes have spd's as i prefer to have one sort of pedal across my spinning mtb road and tri bike. i havnt seen that adapter in any shops but im sure there is a way of getting a set, im more interested in peoples experience in using them

dont let the cycling fraternity know this, it will create a new market segment.

In the old days, it was stick a pump in the spokes - now it will be stick a heel in his calf.

Put mtb pedals on your road bike

Then you can use your mtb shoes for both types of riding and not worry about slipping on your ass when u walk into the coffee shop

For me it's a case of using up my espensive road shoes.

As I don't ride road anymore.

Sometimes when rides long gravel roads with the SsThe road shoes can be used if converted.
