The DH wagon is nothing new, Intense were first I think.

More recently though Trek, Alutech and now... The Syndicate.

Mr Minn is the perfect guinea pig to try and pull this off.

The size of the frame he rides opens up a world of possibilities.

Pure ergonomics if you ask me. Big wheels AND long travel.

I won't try and read too much into how all this R&D translates into end user production

or the future of 29er DH bikes in general.

The Syndicate also has a new team and while Minn and the Frenchman are certainly

podium capable. I think they're just easing into the season and what better way than to

try new things. Not taking it too seriously and see where this goes...

So many spiders...

LOL ... a good few years ago we did a Tokai night ride and we stopped on the upper levels....someone looked down after we were chatting for a while and the floor was COVERED in spiders. One of the riders is a "little scared" of spiders, for the remainder of the evening he refused to put a foot down at a stop. What a great night out that was!

just the syndicate and trek so far.

Brendan's scott looks really damn good! yum!

Are TREK really on 29ers?

That Norco looks TEEEEEERRRRRRRRIBLE IMO. The 80's style tube wrapped around the swing arm to prevent the sound of a dustbin lid rolling down a mountain. REALLY?

compare the PB article pic with this one, and note where the bottom of the shock meets the frame:

in the PB pic, the rear triangle no longer seems to be floating as in the image above, suggesting a new frame from what's gone before. So just an assumption its the proto 29er, but could well be the proto frame being tested here by trek with some ambiguity about wheel sizes.

Ok. It's gonna be interesting for sure.

Gwinn MUST have known about the 29ers that Trek & SC are going to run. He seems to be the rider most closely aligned to Fox so they would surely have told him. The production ready 40 is pretty much the last piece in the puzzle for 29er DH bikes. All the other attempts I've seen have had that horrible dorado out front.

I reckon YT will be on a 29er by MSA. Gwinn is on an XL TUES and he's only 178cm which tells me he's looking for high speed stability.
