jcza Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 This will make a huge impact on Wilro's numbers in the coming years... If Tswane is a decent event it will eventually be the event to ride on that day. Dodging trucks and farmers through the mealiefields on the west rand isn't much fun.
s14phoenix Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 That's my point. Wilro used to be in early-/mid- September.I suspect they'll have to move back in 2018 with this clustering in October/November. My calendar is insane from September to almost December with 1 event every weekend and some weekends its a double - this year I have been more selective. This time of year gets very expensive considering the cost of entries even for "smaller" events...
khayale Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Nissan Trailseeker Marathon Saturday and Tshwane Classic Sunday will make for a tough weekend in the saddle. Looking forward to it.

Long Wheel Base Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 LWB, you riding tandem?? I am with my wife. Gonna be a goodie but a toughie!Yeah, No VA this year. Might ride 1 VA early next year but otherwise its tandem all the way to ARGUS. Will ride VA again end of the year 2018.
Long Wheel Base Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Easy choice - full road closure Agreed on that BUT some people are scared of hills so they choose near death over hills. Even on my club rides there is a massive noticeable decrease in numbers when we do our hilly routes.
Underachiever Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 I'm getting a little bit nervous, my training has completely fallen flat the last few weeks, and I suspect this might turn into a bit of a sufferfest!Same here!!
Lostee Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 This is gonna hurt! I have not done the hills on this race, or I just don't know their names. (still new)

You have two bumps in the mix.......both of them like max 1km long.......Not that bad. The first 94.7s had bastard little climbs in as well and look how it has grown........

The first 94.7s had bastard little climbs in as well and look how it has grown........ But they are quite steep. And don't forget that coming back from Harties on the N4 is one constant drag of just under 20km. In the front racing groups, the more heavier oakes like myself will bleed through the eyes just to hang on.

N4 coming back sounds like the perfect stretch for the bigger guys to sit on the front and pull
kingalton Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 going to be great to have a race right on our door step, no need to wake up at 3AM to get to the start..Get it right the first year and I think this race will grow nicely.. ;-)
