I was just thinking, I never take a photo of my bike in its place at work.

But you not in Stellies... if you were you will need to keep an instagram account of your bike every time you stop, leave it or lock it....

When I parked my car in our secure work parking lot I'd always take a picture of it. Having said that I only did that with my mountain bike and never my road bike (road bike was worth about 3 times the mtb)

I did not took the photo of the bike locked up, One guy at the gym took the pic to send it to one of his mates because it's a nice bike, and he saw my FB post and said he took the photo of the bike round about 18:00

Do not lock any bike up in Stellies with anything less than a quality U-lock or thick chain. Cable locks are useless. There are pairs of guys roaming with bolt cutters - first guy cuts lock, second takes bike and rides away.

Bingo. Bet you someone picked up that chatter. No need to go scouting even. He sommer advertised it for you.

PS: I bet you his mate, has some other mates, who has some other shady mates.

Eish, sorry for your loss, thats a beauty of a bike. I wonder what happens to these stolen bikes? Maybe it gets shipped off and sold somewhere else? Because most bikes get stolen and never reappear, wont even see it advertised on gumtree.

Stolen Bike !!

Guys my Bike got Stolen at Maties Gym yesterday round about 18:00 - 18:15. The bike was locked to the bike rack in the bike lot. It's a Sworks Venge bright orange, very rare bike so easy to spot out. An eye witness saw a guy in a tracksuit pants and a blue hoodie with a cap riding down church street crossing over Mill street and Bird Street. Please if you see anything suspicious of maybe the bike contact me or the police immediately. 071 451 1739

No ways in hell i'd leave that locked up anywhere but inside a house

Hope you find it soon

These fockers need to be stopped. Next year March is the UCI MTB WC in Stellenbosch. They are already planning on upping their tik intake or what? It's going to be like bloody Xmas for them.

I know it was almost a generation ago, but we didn't own bikes like that in Matieland. Despite that my creaky Giant Rincon with broken shifters and a plastic bag saddle had a monster U bolt lock or it would be in danger of heading to cloetesville before the prof had even started the lecture. Like they say, all bikes weigh 50 pounds.

Maybe I'm being harsh and things haven't changed as much as i thought, so go have a look at Piet se Fiets - we got lots of liberated bikes back from there.
