I saw, you did TAKU.

 

ANT+ will work easily as you're using the ANT+ dongle.

 

The ANT+ standard allow a source device to only connect to a single receiver.

so the ANT HR strap will only connect to Dongle, not Dongle and Garmin.

Similar for the other source devices.

 

If you want to send the data to 2 devices, aka computer and Garmin then the source need to talk BTLE to one and ANT+ to the other.

In this ride ANT+ was connected to computer dongle and garmin.

 

Both read HR / power / cadence the same readings

 

Also heard ANT+ can connect to multiple devices

Little update and correction for myself

 

so ANT+ is a 1 to many receive protocol, important bit, only start the Garmin/receiving after you've started pedalling on the Kickr/TrainerRoad (also receiving on ANT+). otherwise the Garmin might take control.

That is correct, since ANT+ is "1 to Many" you can easily pair your devices to two separate receivers. That being said, TrainerRoad will have no problem controlling the smart trainer as long as the second receiver, in this case, the Garmin Edge, doesn't have an "ERG Control" option, which I believe it doesn't! 

Therefore, you can enjoy the benefits of ERG Mode through TrainerRoad while also getting your data on the Garmin Edge head unit

Cycleops uses Rouvy as their app - you can upload your own routes and videos to it.

But then... indoor training is to get quality time on bike, the best is Trainerroad (open platform meant to get you as strong as possible in the least/best time) and Sufferfest (expect to cry) and now Zwift (with their Trainer mode) thats meant for that.

 

otherwise Zwift for the social riding/online.

taxc flow and right now it sucks !! like bollocks!

 

since I use the cell phone to control it via blueteeth, it is a pain and takes about 20 min of SHEER frustration to set up.

 

First it asks for connection, then set up trainer, then every time you set up connection you keep getting the bloody "error in connection". Google for help and it is a common thing. And even if the universe aligns for 1 micro second and it all works, it is all lost when you stop pedaling and then the next night when you want to train it starts all over again!

 

Should have listened to everyone else and just paid the money for any other product, ANY product that actually works.

update on my trainer

Tacx FLUX SUCKS

 

I'm on my third unit and all off them had the same issue, current one developed the issue after only 11 hours.

Tacx international basically told be to f-off

 

Coolheat half heartedly told me they can replace or I must get a refund from the retailer. This after I asked them for a discounted upgrade to the NEO (the upgrade fee I got quoted with unit number 2 was more that the difference in RRP between the flux and NEO

I opted for the latter and once CWC gets stock I'll hopefully be getting myself a Wahoo Kickr (*hint hint Christian.......)

Swiss part of the reason for the tacx choice was the fact that the app was free! Access and everything else was free. And then of course you could load your own GPX routes. The software was easy to use. Easy to get your routes on easy to follow etc. Getting the software to to talk to the unit so that it can be calibrated ... might be easier to ask Pik Botha and Juju to waltz matilda 

 

You did not have to pay monthly ransom fees for the rest of your natural life to some software company.
