Cool so I will post in the add section tomorrow, will try for R 6k. Maybe I get it, maybe I don't.

Carbon Large Merida Team Issue with R7 fork and X0 , X9, SLX and Avid Juicy Ultimate brakes (I Know) and DT Swiss 340's tubless.

Good luck - sure someone out there would like it.

I ran Avid Juicys and the Shriek they made under load when braking would clear a path for me during a race - no problems with bottlenecks.

People do still buy them, but you have to pretty much give away your bike to get it sold! I have an old 26er, full XTR, dual suspension, in perfect nick - Today's equivalent would cost near 50k, but I reckon I would get 6k or 7k for it if I put it in the classifieds - in short it is worth allot more to me than to the bike buying market - for that reason I would not sell it, and would recommend that unless you are strapped for cash, you should hold on to yours. They make great training bikes, or a bike for a friend that day you want to bring someone along on a ride, or when a buddy comes to visit without his bike. IMO, 26ers are awesome bikes, but you will not get what it is worth on the 2nd hand market.

I must say, even though I recently upgraded to a dual sus 29er, the 26" GT hardtail that I rode before (and will be selling shortly to make up for the cash I spend on the new one) is an absolute beast. I had LOADS of fun on it, and I climbed the same hills and did the same trails that I'm doing with the new bike. It's a different story when it's a R3k 26" from Makro, but never discount a decent, tried and trusted 26" of a proven brand. In my experience the 26" hardtail is a lot more responsive on the trails. The 29" can be a bit of a donkey at times in my experience. It'll definitely take some getting used to.

So I can only deduce from some of the posts on this fred that bmx bikes must be for midgets.

Some would say that by mentioning Avid brakes you just halved your sale price.

It states in the add it's 26", but those were my thoughts too! 20"bike with 8" rotors....

Corrected, just give it a bit of time for the tree collision  .

As for the OP, 26" bikes are still very well and alive. Sadly (read luckily to the right guy) the value of the 26" bike has dropped substantially. But I still ride mine, and absolutely love it!!!

Think would rather buy a new lower spec 29er as opposed to a 2nd hand fancy 26er, still have my full suss 26 merida and dig it to the max, for plebs like me I dont know that it would make much difference if I was on a 26/27.5/29 Im not gonna sell the 26er cos I know wont be worth much and I still dig riding it. (Now and then when not on the roadie)

I would not personally buy one now, but you must definitely try and keep it as part of your fleet if you can......

I have 2 and will not sell them......

Love my 29er on the trails ...

LOVE my Merida 27,5 for the commute !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For a commuter the 26 might well be a NICE bike.  If it is in good nick that might be a steal.

And as others have said - many teenagers that are just too small for a 29er, so there is a market still for the 26.  And you really cant get anything decent for 6k for the kids ....
