Skubarra Posted November 21, 2017 Share At the last waterpoint I had to decline a beer (never thought I’d see the day) and push on towards Die Top, knowing that those last switchbacks take forever to finish. True this, a bit like Heartbreak Hill on Day 1, those last few switchbacks before the Top is pure torture! Nice write-up! If you do it alone, in the middle of the week, outside of the school holidays, you might just get one of those "I'm alone on earth" experiences. I love that, but some find it a bit scary. It is the one road where I have been known to talk to myself, sometimes in the third person, but perhaps that is just the heat and the lack of oxygen?
