Si Race :  Awesome Bike , I had the previous model before, for 4 years and also add no problems with that one.

The New geo is RAD.....Point and go....more Confidence overall.

Only grip on the SI Race is part of the frame which is Gloss Black.....small "Surface" swirls which wont be visible on any other gloss colour seems like scratches.....matt colour is beter in this regard

Also a HUGE Specialized fan, but my S-Works Epic FSR rides like a hardtail as I tried everything to get a softer smoother ride. Played around with the brain (front & back) and still nothing has changed.

Would love to test one of the scapels!!!

Coming from a brain many many moons ago, the Lefty is a HUGE improvement.

BB30PF.

You just need the correct BB.  I switched over to WheelsManufacturing PF30 and it has not given me one day's problems.

The FSA bearings that it comes out with are not long lasting.

On that note, I see Chris King is now making a PF30.  Bit expensive but the greasing works pretty awesome.

Only gripe I have with my 'dale is that the paint gets chipped very easily.  But I recon this is the case with any bike these days.

Just to put in some perspective,I'm the ultimate bike SLUT.I run my own try before you buy program, currently on bike number 98 at the moment.

23 of them were specialized including every epic they made from comp carbon to s works.

Also had every brand some time or other.

The new scalpel si had set the benchmark. The lefty has always been the gold standard.

Specialized got seriously caught out with their pants down and went from leaders to not even top 3 imo.

To me the top 3 bikes ( not going into trail type or enduro) are scalpel,Scott,Pyga

The only downside to the bike is that you will have to endure the idiotic comments about the bike pulling to the left or "you only have half a fork" from people who honestly think they they first person to ever come up with that comment.

Seriously, that joke is 25 years old now

Coming from a other brand, I would think it's quite difficult to get use to the LEFTY ???

Nope not at all... feels and rides just like any other bike but better..

Think I must find a LBS that can help me with a demo bike, would really loooooove to test one on local trails.

There are a couple of demo bikes around the western cape.

Hamba at Cycletecnix organized a demo for a friend of mine.
