It was definitely brand new in blister pack and was installed by a reputable store in Cape Town. I emailed, DM'd and Instagram messaged Lizardskin. No reply. I ride another 3 hour ride and everywhere I gripped started peeling. Pics too big to add. Will never use Lizardskin again. End!

You say it was new, how long did the seller have it for? It could be that he bought the grips but never used them and they are just old stock.

Especially if they ignore you on social media as well.

They do look damn good!

 

But at R599 a set, it makes the purchase difficult as the fiance feels whatever I spoil myself with she must get too. . . Becomes a costly exercise then haha

I currently have Fabric Bar Tape on my bike, the grippy one that looks like it knurled... Flippen love it...

Had the exact same thing happen to my Lizardskins fitted by the "Won't say the name" LBS and within 3 months it frayed on the same spot above the hoods. Took the bike back to the LBS and the "Small" man wanted to first send the tape to supplier, making me wait for a reply. Called the "Big" man and the tape was changed immediately. Took Fizik as I was just gatvol with a product so unreliable and never looked back. So ... don't use Lizardskin.

Will probably go with Fizik. Have it on three bikes. No hassles ever. Won't use Lizardskin again even if YMMV !
