I used a set of Maxxis Crossmarks back in the day. I filled them up with sealant I got from a mate, and they served me well. I used some el-cheapo sealant from CWC to top them up every now and then. I never had issues, until the day came we parted ways due to their insistence on going bald..

I use Joe Tyre sealant for my Maxxis tyres. I might be lucky, but I have not had a puncture for a couple of years now

Perhaps you should actually ride your bike more.

Maxxis are not known for lasting "a couple of years" when used properly, as they are quite soft. My Crossmarks were at least. I only got just short of a year on them, around 3000 odd km's.

The "couple of years" were reference to how long ago I had a puncture (with Maxxis and Joe sealant), not how long the Tyre's last.

I have been using Stans with Maxxis Monorail tyres for about 4 years now. Had one that delaminated but that was the tyre that was on the back wheel when I got it. Other than that it has been hassle free with almost not flats except for a piece of glass and massive thorn that punctured big holes.

I have nothing bad to say about Stans and will keep on using it.

Just m 2c.

Long time ago some of the Maxxis range used to object violently to Stan`s or Joe`s or any other sealant with ammonia in it.

Nowadays I have not had any issues with any of their range - as I said was a long time ago - before the Rindepest.

So pretty much run anything in them these days.

I was told Ryder had less ammonia and apparently it is inportant. Been using it with my Crossmarks without any issues.

Am I the only one not using Stans?  Hmmmmm.......

Maxxis Crossmarks - been using Stans and also used the LBS green stuff (can't think of the brand name), no issues

"Slime" perhaps?

I personally have had Slime in my tires, as well as the Sludge (Yellow bottle with a rhino on) that I'm currently using, and I'm super happy with it. Not affecting my tires in any way outside of stopping punctures dead in their tracks without excessive fluid running out. For example, I got home from Bloemendal the other day and had a good couple of thorns in both tires. Gooi'd the bike on the stand, pulled them out one by one and then simply spun both wheels around to seal them up, with literally less than a drop appearing where each thorn had been.
