Brilliant.

Always more you can add, depending on the set up, for example do you add another spare tire, and maybe a brush or something to clean the bike after the race (assuming there is no cleaning service)

Only thing you should expect is that this is really the best 3 day stage race in SA. Im not just saying that cause I'm from CT but its the truth. Sani used to be the leader in 3 day events and then W2W pulled their socks up and its passed for 1st.

That's a bold statement! Not sure I agree that it passed the Sani but W2W is certainly right up there. Us Capetonians are fortunate to have such a premium event on our doorsteps that is still relatively affordable.

LeoNight, if I was you I would remove the medical stuff as you don’t want someone who is a newbie to use something like cataflam and then have an adverse reaction and blame you.

Just another note, most anti-inflammation drugs have a long half-life and that is not easy on the kidneys.

Which is made worse when the person is dehydrated because of exercise.

Edit more info here.

Kidneys

It is not wise to take NSAIDs after prolonged and exhausting sports activities, or after a major accident, because the combination of dehydration and NSAIDs can also impair your kidney function.

Thanks for the suggestion, makes a lot of sense, and have made the change (maybe need to add that this is just a list I use, and need to consult your doctor)

Logical to me about the use, but I suppose not everyone knows about the effect of anti inflammatory medicines on the body. Anyhow. About the pillow I was thinking about that as well. Do you have a specific camping pillow? Or are you using a regular pillow like you doe at home? Recommendations would be appreciated. If I may ask what is a black box strap? Where on earth are you going to pack all those spares? I have a service package so don't reckon I will be needing much of that.

I recently heard that Eno's or Rennie tabs can also help for cramps, so apparently having a sachet of Eno's before the ride and then carrying one with you can quickly relieve cramps by having a sachet with some water.

Quick question

Do you get boxes like the Sani or a bag or use your own bag?

Keep getting different info......

+1 on this question. First time so I have no idea what this looks like

One year they issue you with W2W jackets and the next year they issue W2W bags. I recall complaints about the jackets last year, so I am guessing that it is bags this year. Perhaps check with the race orginisers.

Not sure, this was a list I got from someone else who had even more stuff on there that I took off as I did not think I would take it along (I am not not saying it was his night time teddy bear)

With regards to the spares, think there are tech zones and mechanics at the w2w that can probably assist, it is more if you you are going to maintain your own stuff. I am lucky that my vehicle will be dropped off at the race village so can store the stuff in the car.

PS. yes thinking of taking normal pillow from home with me

Which is why I prefer Panamor Gel.
