Please spare a thought for Thomas.. Froome plans on riding for another 5 years.

Just imagine a few years younger or older than CF and Thomas could have been the SKY leader...wrong time at the moment.

Remember, it’s these guys careers, hoe they earn their living. They only have a certain amount of time to maximize their cycling income.

Being a super dom can be much more lucrative job, for longer, than when a long shot tries to make it on his own, and fails.

I actually think Poels is better than both of them.

Yep very true..and nothing wrong with that.. pro athletes only have so much time.. some have a longer earning career than others..Froome probably only really started making decent money from 2013 maybe .. end of 2011 was his breakthrough year.2012 he was on Wiggins duty..pretty late start for a cyclist to earn big money.

Possibly why he plans on racing another 5 years..some even are fortunate enough to keep some endorsements after retirement.. think Maradona is still sponsored by Puma.

14 Tour de France rules you probably didn’t know

The Tour de France has its own set of rules and regulations governing the running or the event and conduct of the riders, teams and staff. Here are a selection of rules you may not know.

An interesting one:

The prize money non-payment for those retiring without justifiable reasons

Also the sunglasses and rigid helmet at the start and finish.

I will bet my carbon hoops that Froome goes to Didata in 3 years time for his Contador Trek years.

I'll take that bet. My carbon hoops (Enve) with CK hubs says he won't.

They are 26'' and for a dh bike.

He'll still be better than Meintjes so that's a safe bet[emoji6]

No Boohoo-Bouhanni for Cofidis this year. He's clearly going to go and punch something.

“I am very, very disappointed,” Bouhanni told French sports newspaper L’Equipe. I am really very unhappy.

“Even if I am mentally strong, it is very hard to accept [the decision]. I always give 100 per cent but mentally it’s getting harder for me.”

He has never been mentally strong
