6 bolt or centre lock rotors

Which is the better of the two? I hear 6 bolt is preferable and that centre lock can wear and start shuddering a bit. Of course this could just be a rumor. Centre lock looks much cleaner though!

Any real life experiences out there?

My opinion centre lock is better. 6 bolt you only have that 6 bolts to take all the strain from braking. Centre lock is a lot more "contact" area to handle the forces.

Yet all the force ends up going through six rivet bolts anyway, so that point is a bit mute.

It's honestly same same.

I have CL on the back and 6 bolts on the front and dont think one is any better than the other. The only comment I have is there seems to be a greater selection of 6 bolt rotors and I think they may be cheaper.

I think you can get adapters.

Many pros only run 3 bolts cause its quicker to change then , have not seen A rotor sheered off a wheel yet

so i don know

Ive had both before and from what i experienced, centre lock is very limited in the rotors you get and hubs. Majority are 6 bolt so if you ok with limited choice then you good to go.

I didn't really notice any difference in terms of performance or play butni started to loathe centre lock due to being so limited.
