I have this one which I am not using. Will work on 1.125 inch aluminium steerer tube. Extends the height about 2.5 cm.

Does anyone know where I can buy a steerer tube extender similar to one pictured above? Thanks!

Lol. I still have it. Brand new, I'll sell it to you. I think I paid R100 on aliexpress.

Looking for some advice and options on extending a carbon steerer tube for a gravel fork.

I need say 25mm odd only.
Couple of questions:
1) Are extenders like these safe (https://www.velobike.co.nz/products/steerer-tube-extender)?

2) Is a carbon repair route feasible?

3) Are there any other options?

If only for 25mm…and on a gravel bike…i’d risk using that. Stems are usually around 40mm stack so it would be clamping on both the upper part of the existing steerer and the new extender. The expander/bung also means I wouldn't be too worried about clamping in the upper 20mm odd of the carbon steerer as it will be supported on the inside.

i mean it is marketed as such, gets good reviews and is shown on the web page to do exactly what i just described. Take note of this bit: we recommend the extender to be epoxy bonded into the steerer for best security.

never on anything i expect to ride off anything higher than a sidewalk though😅

This was my thoughts exactly.
Just sanity checking myself with some hub knowledge.

would it not make so much more sense using an inverted stem to raise the bars and have piece of mind??

The issue is not comfort, its getting enough steerer through the frame.

I am trying to fit a mate's Lauf fork to my gravel bike.
With my integrated cable headset cap having a 20mm odd stack, there is only about 20mm above that to fix the stem to.
With the stem stack at 40mm odd the short extension could work.

I like the Velobike one as they extended the 'bung' which provides stiffness and continuity through the extender interface.

I once tried to fit n a mtb Lauf fork to gravel frame... did not work.

Bike looked like chopper and was basically impossible to ride due to to geometry.

Could not even ride the bike in my own driveway... 🤣

My advice is to make sure it will work before investing to much on the extender...🤷‍♂️
