Ok, they responded, all mtb routes canned, such a pity ..

That’s bizarre

Or is it on another date spreading the logistical effort?

As I understand the mtb event didn't attract enough numbers to make it worth hosting a separate event (and on the flipside they attract enough numbers for the road event so that it is not worth the hassle of extra logistics of hosting mtb routes on the same day)

Personally I think it is flipping hard at the moment to host a normal mtb event at the Tygerberg trails because most of the mtb'ers in the area are members of the club anyway and won't feel compelled to pay half a year's club membership for a one-off event.

Qoute from their reply:

"Farmers are limiting routes to the routes used by the TBMBC and many farmers not part of the club don’t allow access. Questions are then raised by club members as to why should they pay R280 for a days race when they pay R400 for a yearly membership and routes being open for the whole year. The cost involved in compensating farmers, CSA etc…I can list loads more which I am happy to dscuss with you."

Edit: Fix formating

Yip

If I raced MTB, I would make decisions accordingly.
