Pulls the piston in lever further back, so travel on lever should be less, ie. travel on when pads hit rotor

 

Does it work, NO! Makes little to no difference, in my experience.

I dont think it is really meant to make a difference.

I think it is there to set your brake as the pads wear.

Ie. You set it as your brake pads wear down to maintain the same feel on the brake lever.

I think. IMO

does anyone know what the FREE STROKE Screw on the Levers does, sorry if stupid question, I have played with it and it makes no radiance?

 

Its a trick.

Shimano has candid cameras on sattelites setup to watch the idiots playing with that screw, getting frustrated and swearing.
