What to do?

Shame, really sorry op.

I never buy used goods that I cannot physically inspect.

Had many temptations to buy many things, but I cannot bring myself to do it.

Most Risky to Least Risky:

-Take the sellers word for it, pay him via EFT and have it shipped to you

-Check their BikeHub Postcount

-Check their Traders Feedback

-Use an online esgrow service, like www.paywithshepherd.com

-Meet the seller in a safe location, inspect on site, then pay for item

-Buy from LBS

Doesn't take away from the fact that the seller acted wrongfully, you just need to protect yourself better in future.

This is why I keep saying financial transactions should only be allowed between people with 336 337 posts on the hub or more.

But seriously, hard luck. Hopefully between the seller, admin and this online lynch-mob, you get your money back.

Here is a nasty thing you can try:

This can only work if you have never met face-to-face, as I presume is the case.

Figure out which races he is going to do, preferable one with allot of wind, like ride4sight. Join the race in his batch.

Now, 10km in, convince him to come with you in a breakway. Make sure you go hard and succeed in making a gap to the main bunch. Then you need to be patient and do your bit, lure him into a false sense of security that his breakaway partner is in this with him till the end.

THEN YOU ATTACK, HARD. Drop him in the process and let him suffer in the wind alone for the rest of the route, or until the main group catches him.

He will be so broken and humiliated he will reconsider all his recent dealings and regret he ever crossed you.

His response:   "I said i'm really sorry   I wont be able to refund you    its just that you will have to get new caps"

not to mention new hoods.  He looked at the wanted list and then phoned me.  I was not home at the time to check his profile and took a chance.  Had my reservations right from the start.

When a hubber contacts you about a product you want, and you request a photo, make the deal, pay, and

when this product arrives its nowhere near what the condition as indicated by the photo which was sent to you.

This person then refuses to refund you and take the product back.

What do you do?

WHO is this mysterious hubber?

jeez. that's blatantly fraudulent. oh and i love the the rug he used to sweep this under: "I said i'm really sorry."

OP: I think your sole job, no.. RESPONSIBILITY, is to make damn sure this PoS is genuinely, "really sorry". SAPS can help with that.

Think there is also a slight responsibility on you to dispose who this is so that we don't get duped by his too.

I'm pretty sure what just happened here is illegal. He tried to convince you (and succeeded) that he was selling you shifters that he obviously did not have. So that's fraud am I right?

*I don't know much about these legal matters, I am just a lowly graphic designer. Perhaps some one with some insight can help us?

OP, we are here to help. We can't help you if we do not know whom we are dealing with.  :whistling:
