Spinnekop Posted January 25, 2018 Share Okay. Google is being dumb this morning. Nothing on SRAM web page. I want to replace the BB on my bike. The quark/SRAM crank nut does NOT want to budge. Like. Nothing.I did torque it way below spec. (54Nm which I thought was stupid hard). Took it to 30nm.But trying to take it off seems to be a bit of a mission. Sprayed Q20 and left it for a couple of minutes. Nothing. It seems (and I can remember vaguely) that it is normal thread. Not reverse. I am not allowed as per SRAM instructions to loosen the non-drive side. Only drive side. What am I missing?
V12man Posted January 25, 2018 Share What am I missing? a VERY long drive tool..... I have had to use an air impact on an XO crank before - make 10000% sure you are going in the correct direction to loosen it. Cannot confirm anywhere on the interwebs. So frustrated you can boil an egg in my ass.

V12man Posted January 25, 2018 Share It is marked. But it that for tightening or loosening? If the arrow goes towards a torque spec it is for tightening - I think - rather wait for iwan Spinnekop and Dusty

Cippo Posted January 25, 2018 Share Was using a Super Record Ti crankset on my bike amd when it came to servicing I tried to remove the drive side bolt as I have always done on all the Campy cranks I have used before. It wouldnt budge and eventually I went to my lbs. We struggled there as well and I returned home evenuallly. After eventually reading all the print in the various Campy documentation turns out the titanium axle model is the only one that has a reverse thread. Lesson learnt. JA-Q001 Posted January 25, 2018 Share righty tighty - lefty loosy. Normale soort vasdraai en los draai. Kry maar 'n pyp, partykeer sit dit boetjoe erg vas, sodra jy die byt breek sal dit so 'n halwe draai maklik gaan en dan begin kontak maak met die extractor.
