Don't be - they are better in every respect:

Modulation

Wet weather braking

Long decents

Rim longevity and resistance to damage

etc etc...

Except for your pocket as now you need a new frame, groupset and wheels

Ons hang aan jou lippe...do tell more!

38% downhill, lack of confidence, 85kg body = cooked brakes (aka break failure).

To avoid crashing into a group of hikers had stop with more conventional braking methods ... jumped of the saddle and braking with feet while holding onto steering and veering past the hikers.  I think it would have been moer funny from the sideline but had bite marks in my bibs.

I thought I was the only one who doesn't want discs. Sadly, I hate to admit it, but rim brake bikes will be obsolete soon.

I'm not against discs on my road bike as such, just not any time soon.

I don't feel like replacing my Argent wheels, that have been used about four times (including from and back to the car at last year's CTCT) just yet.

I doubt rim brakes will become obsolete soon, but luckily for me and my budget I am sure many other people will have rim brake bike stuff to sell for a long time to come.

I had one, they're great. Great value for a full Ultegra, 7kg (in a small) bike. I've heard the shifting is even better with the new shimano groupset with changes to the cable routing

Do it! Do it!

Love, love that bike. I am looking at Canyon's women's tribike.

Had Canyon in my sights for a long time. Was also looking at an equivalent Cube C:62 but it is slightly more expensive and then still alu seatpost.  Get better online service from Canyon.

My love of Canyon is also slightly irrational. There is just something about those bikes. I can get a Liv with all the bells and whistles for a little more, but it just doesn't call to me like the Canyon.

Bateleur1, instead of replying to the hundreds of PM's I imagine you have, just tell us where you work so we can all start checking for jobs... :P

Work in Germany.  I only found out about this yesterday.  You will see under the Canyon website under the payment option a link to Jobrad.  This is the leasing scheme.  In 2012 the tax laws in Germany decided to allow people to lease bicycle exactly the same way as cars.  It is apparently very common here.  So I will be swopping this out for my train ticket.

So in short ... come work in Germany :P
