Rider attacked in Durban

This story is true... a young triathlete attacked by some gents who robbed him and then tried to cut his leg off. The chainsaw was 2 blunt to get through so they did the same to the other leg. He is in hospital with a chance that they may have to amputate his 1 leg.

SA is a f...ed up place !!!

Any idea who the athlete is? This is all kinds of messed up. Sounds like a hate crime more than anything else. If they wanted to kill the guy, they wouldn't do it by cutting off his legs. This was done to inflict pain. No words.

Wtf, is this true? Can a chainsaw be to blunt to cut through a leg?

I'll wait to see some legitimate info before believing this.

If it is true, I doubt the sharpness has anything to do with being able to cut through bone...

I am battling to believe it myself.

Yeah look, "living" bone is quite soft compared to dead old bones. So it should probably still have some margin of sharpness.

How weird is it to be discussing this particular topic.

I really hope this isn't true.

That section of road is incredibly dangerous when it comes to motor vehicles and the township so close to the road.

Any local should know not to use that section of road.

Flippen hope this is not what our roads have come to.

If its true, I hope he is going to be ok..sh*t man

Spoke to a mate of mine who is in comms with ambulance services locally, he hasn't heard anything.

Lets hope it stays that way, holding thumbs.
