I struggled to get Rouvy working properly ( ok i am over 50 so my computer skills might be lacking) I used Trainerroad and it gave me very good results !

Have been using Rouvy for about 3 years now. Have used it with a Cycleops Powerbeam Pro and now using with a Tacx Neo, never had a problem. I use it on a PC used only for training but have also used with my IPad, the transition from one to the other is seamless. There are lots of videos available, some good some not, you need to finds the ones you like. Lots of preprogrammed sessions or you can set up your own. My coach will give me a session to do on Training Peaks, takes me less than 5 minutes to create on Rouvy on my PC or tablet. I don’t have experience with trainer Road.

Been using Rouvy for a few years now. Love the premium workouts, routes and the Free ride option. Offers a wide range of training options to keep you stimulated. Excellent if you use a smart trainer. Cycleops Powerbeam pro is great for this!

The way I use "Free Ride":

Free ride allows you to select the power you want to ride and varies the resistance to achieve the set-point, depending on cadence.

 - put on a Carmichael Training video (CTS). Similar to a group indoor Spinning session.

 - vary the power watts (resistance) and cadence according to the instructions from the video

 - I use my FTP number as a starting point to decide on the power level to choose when they ride at steady state, steep climb, power interval or recovery.

The workout is as hard as you make it!

Have used trainnerroad and rouvy and were great for a while, especially rouvy when free riding a course with video or even doing some of the races.  The hub use to have races at least once a week.

However when on my training plans throughout the year depending on time of year, be it triathlon, TT or increasing FTP in the off season, none of the workouts suited or gelled with their training plans.

Once trainingpeaks introduced workout builder, was easy enough to create my specific workouts  and download.  I then import to Golden Cheetah and use the train function of GC which can automatically control the smart trainer same as rouvy and traineroad

You can now import your TP daily workouts into rouvy and i think trainerroad directly, but as I use Golden Cheetah to post analyse workouts and rides, have stuck with GC as the workout is automatically saved to GC once completed and I can check and analyse straight away.

A bit more effort required, but works for my needs.

Thanks to all....

Aye for Rouvy

Never tried trainer road, rouvy does everything I need.

The online races are great, as shaper mentioned earlier there used to be a regular hub race in the Events thread.
