Probably the older generation not knowing how to pair the phone with the car or they were so used to not having bluetooth that they forget about it.

Here I am often guilty just because I don't switch the bluetooth on my phone on.

I keep it off as it eats your battery having it on unnecessarily

No man, you can't risk having Pizza delivery (i.e. your side-chick) call you when your wife is with you in the car.

what ancient phone do you have?

Yes it eats some battery power, but not nearly enough to warrant turning it on and off, and not even close to any other normal use of the phone.

It ate at my OCD too when I had a Golf 6 - I just used the steering wheel controls because that button needs to face up!!

Speaking about poor design, the on/off button on my Ranger's radio is the same knob as volume control (as with most cars - **** design to begin with), but it's so sensitive that half the time I try to adjust volume I switch the radio off!

Isuzu does not have this problem. The Power is on the left, and the Volume control is the dial on the right, making control thereof very intuitive. In fact, it is so close to the steering wheel, I have resorted to using the dial rather than the steering wheel control, as it is faster that way. I use the steering controls to change tracks / channels. My music is streamed via bluetooth from my phone, which is mounted to to a air vent mounted magnetic phone clip thingamabob. Works a charm. That, combined with "OK Google" means I never touch it while driving.

total shirtshow. basically all the controls on the steering wheel are random, you never know what is going to happen when you push them.

SA's 2 prong plugs (not the Schuko ones), and every manufacturer that spec their products with an outboard DC adapter with these abominations.

staying on car audio.

I know why we have car radios that can pick up SW and LW, but how hard is it to disable this option when you know country of destination?

FM=>AM=>LW=>SW=>FM

which is just two skips of static

Indicator on the left, wipers on the right... :thumbdown:  :nuke:

Having the left hand to change gears means you need the right hand to hold the steering wheel and indicate where you intend to drive. For this stupid reason of having the indicator on the left in many cars is probably why so many Saffa's are determined to forsake using that piece of automotive ingenuity.

Again, Isuzu has managed to do this right.

except this is a blue screen of death, with no screen. it's just invisible blue death!

they've fixed the software for the Fiat500, but not the lower volume models.
