johanpre44 Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 Don't get me wrong, love Shimano (have it on my one MTB), the other one running SRAM. But I have noticed that the new XTR RD almost looks like an SRAM Ripoff... Gone is the Shadow tech on the RD which even made it to the road RD's. Will be interesting to see what the new XT and SLX looks like.
DieselnDust Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 Shadow is for floating parallelogram derailleurs. This new RD 9100 is fixed with the chain tension articulation only at the cage. Hence the comments that it's a a SRAM type 3.0 rip off
