While it caused some issues (mostly with marshalls and us organisers), it was better than going into the rocks at full tilt and the possible breakages of bodies and wheels that were the alternative! I'm not quite sure how I avoided the tape in the end.  Those were some incredible trails - in hindsight I wish I had done a test ride or 2 before yesterday so I could have gotten a decent time rather than riding everything blind but still a great day out!
