I'm assuming this thread is silent due to everyone sitting on their bikes at this very moment, training away on a 10% dusty trail somewhere?

I'm beyond excited for it. First timer attempting it with 7 family members (look out for Build-It kit on the start route), one of which is a Savage.

Longest ride up until now is 100km (50% dirt, 50% road), so I have some ways to go. Attempting it on my cheapo Silverback Sola 4, strongly contemplating the need for my second kidney to fund a dual-susser for the occasion.

Potential first timer - BUT looking for a team! Such a pain!!

Very able and capable rider - could dip under 10 hours (if required).

Done many many events: stage races (incl Epic, Jhb2c etc.) and 100 milers.

Trans a big bucket list item.

Anybody looking/interested, please let me know.

cheers

Marc

Have done 3 in the past and it's amazing to say the least. Logistics is an absolute nightmare and I never like that bit. Keen to do it one day again

I'm nowhere near under the 10 hour mark

Question - is it better to fly out of George or PE? I see George is 3hrs away from Jbay and PE about 1hr. I'll be flying into George and be picked up by my team coming from CT. Obviously they'll be heading back to CT on Sunday.

Thanks

This may be true for a gifted minority but for me and I suspect a lot of others a bit more is needed?

If you can do a 5hr road ride with mtb without a coffee stop you shld be o.k....

What kind of mileage must one be covering now weekly to finish comfortably?? (Asking for a friend)  :whistling:  :whistling:

Ave 6.5 hours p/w for five weeks before the event gets a fat old man there well short of fourteen hours.....

I'm flying from JHB, my team is driving from CT. So would add at least 2hrs to their travel time
