In hindsight it is a real pity that only the Elite men's did the final holl climb.I don't think it would have made a difference in the women's result, but it could well have changed the tactics leading into it.

It looks as if most of the Vuelta GC contenders had not recovered enough. Yates, Kwaitko, Kruiswijk, Quintana, Pinot did not have a big influence on the race. Woods and Valverde are the exceptions.
