Not built for GC contention in a three week Grand tour.... not yet anyway.

Plus like Sagan, he likes the Fun of bike racing.

But who knows, maybe in a couple of years...

I'm not convinced it's about build. Maybe it's just not his focus right now. He's 27 so maybe he wants to give it one last year of experience before giving it a tilt. What is known is that if he does target the gc the French press won't let him sleep leaving him fatigued before the tour even starts

So fun fact of the day..

The stage today goes close to the German border so the employees of Hansgrohe got on their bikes and cycled the 100km from headquarters to this last climb to cheer the team on.

Shees DDD why did no one go back to help Eddie B.

Who exactly?

Think it was only Valgren left in front and they kept him for a lead out.

EBH probably would have rode away from anyone trying to help him ????.

Some good PR tv time for both EBH and TDD

In the end Eddy wasn't even top 10. He looked too far back going into the circle with 500m to go and as they came out of that they really accelerated. In the end he was sprinting just to hold his place as Impy drilled the heck out of it on the front until bout 170m to go.

After that effort to get back to the peloton his finishing position is really good..how many times have we not seen other fast guys just give up when things like that happens ?

Steve " You always find me at the back during races" Cummings was at it again today.

175th out of the 176 finishers.

Seems he has a good holiday in France.

Not a condemnation of his spirit or the ride but more a statement that when you’re that far back you’re not going to be able to do anything. Was willing him on as much as the commentators but after such a big effort and looking at that lead group the odds were against a fairy tale ending. Hope he keeps trying.
