DJR Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 Five weeks and counting for a couple of bits from Belgium and the UK. Back in the day........aag forget about it.
kosmonooit Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 I'm still waiting for some batteries from Belguim that were sent in June
Vetplant Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 I am testing the Aramex global shopper currently. Ordered a 0.5kg package from an American website on Wednesday 31 October, it should arrive in New York by Monday, 5 Novermber. This costs R60 shipping. From there Aramex will courier it, process the customs duties themselves and deliver it to my door for R200, plus duties if they are due. I am curious to see how quickly they can do the NY->Pta link given the measly R200 delivery fee.... Will keep you guys posted. Disclaimer, delivery fees are heavily dependent on weight, so don't for a moment think you will ship vehicle coil spring cheaply.Feedback:Ordered 31 Okt 2018Delivered to New York via US Postal Service: 6 NovArrived in Jhb: 9 NovFinally out of customs: 26 November I hoped this Aramex route would make the customs process quicker but it is still frustratingly slow. Now awaiting the final hop from Jhb to Pta.
M Hickley Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 How long did it float in customs? Mine went in on the 25th.
Vetplant Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 How long did it float in customs? Mine went in on the 25th.9th of Nov till 26 Nov, so 17 days. Are all your invoices, ID numbers, proofs of payment reflecting your details attached to the parcel? All of that admin to get them to accept my documents was what took so long. This is because Customs take a week to respond to any document you send through. It is as if they deliberately want to frustrate you so that you are less likely to bring things in,
M Hickley Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 This is my second order from bike24, the previous one took 20days from being shipped till delivered. Had no issues. Sent a parcel via post office to Russia, 9days delivered!!!!!
Zeffer Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 My parcel suddenly appears as being at my local post office. Spent 2 weeks from China to Jhb and 5 weeks from Jhb to Pta.....
Dirkitech Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 I'm still waiting for some batteries from Belguim that were sent in JuneBatteries? Are you sure those won't be confiscated before reaching overseas shipping? As for others mentioning late notices, I also got an sms 2 weeks ago saying "final notice". I got there and told them this is the first notice, they just said "haibo"
MORNE Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Batteries? Are you sure those won't be confiscated before reaching overseas shipping? As for others mentioning late notices, I also got an sms 2 weeks ago saying "final notice". I got there and told them this is the first notice, they just said "haibo" if they are Lithium they probably will---" Hazmat's"(hazardous materials) . You usually pay alot more for shipping on Hazmats since they need either to be shipped in fire proof containers or via sea lol. they won't just casually load them in a cargo plane contained in a cardboard box. If you've ever poked a Lipo with a sharp object and marvelled at the violence it becomes pretty obvious why you wouldnt want that in the cargo bay of a plane bing manhandled like some of the packages do.
kosmonooit Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Batteries? Are you sure those won't be confiscated before reaching overseas shipping? Coming from Belgium, apparently okay from there,
Martin PJ Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Getting lots more parcels now, delivery has gone from completely useless to half useless. Some very old packages arrived from 5 months ago, had given up hope.
TheJ Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Question.... Is EMS shipping worth it or will it still get stuck in JHB for weeks/months? Dis EMS expedite the process at all?
JacBrand Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 What does this mean when searching the tracking number? My parcel from August
