Can’t say I’ve noticed much but I try to eat every 4 hrs. Like breakfast at six, two fruits at ten, lunch at one and then dinner at around seven.

 

The idea behind the time restricted eating in Joe's interview is that you need to restrict eating to a 12 hour window. Basically if the first thing that you consume other than water is at 6am, the last thing you consume must be before 6pm.

Intermittent fasting certainly works.. 

 

I have combined it with banting and I'm down from 87kg to 79kg in about 2 months.. 

 

Normal exercise I've always been doing. 

 

I am not fasting this month will kick it off next month again, there are a lot of opinions on this subject but what I looked into and what worked for me is 16 hour fasting. Stop eating after dinner around 6pm, only drink water, black tea or black coffee only eat 16hrs later. 

 

Why this works for me... 

 

I am sleeping most of this time or at least half of it. 

 

I drink black coffee anyway...

I fasted once a week for 48hrs at a time, for about 1.5 years.  I use to start and break my fast with oats and drank black tea and water during the fast.

 

I was a bit chubby and started this (for not only health but also spiritual reasons) about 7/8 years ago. I was 22 odd, gym'd every day of the week (mostly cardio) and weighed about 62kg (which made me underweight).  I currently weigh 78kg and am considering fasting again, to get me down to 72kg (healthy weight).

More often than not I tend to only eat dinner, and then a LC/0C.  (Only over weekends I will add bf with the family).  

 

I am still alive, and enjoying my life and sport :) 

 

Do whatever you are happy with and which works for you.

 

(I think we try to over-engineer too much stuff)

okes also have no idea about doing things in moderation, swinging from eating far too much, to far too little, then it is not sustainable so they relapse back to far too much and start the next fad diet eating far too little and the cycle continues. Instead of just eating the right amount of food the whole time.

 

No get rich quick schemes, no shortcuts. no substitute for putting in hours and hours of graft, day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year - true commitment.

For the last month or so, Wednesdays (today), is my no food day. I'll have breakfast, which in the last while is high fat/high protein and low carb. Then I'll have nothing but water the rest of the day and eat again tomorrow morning at breakfast. 24 hours. I'll probably get lekker hungry in a few hours time, tummy rumbling etc, and that's ok! By this afternoon the body has started to understand and the hunger goes away. By tomorrow morning you aren't even that hungry. The goal is to get past 12 hours with no calories, the body then has no choice but to start using fat for fuel.

 

Food takes 3-5 hours to be processed, and after about 12 hours you enter a fasted state. People usually eat every 3 hours or probably even more often with snacking etc. Your "gut" never gets a second to rest. Before the last bit of food exits the body you've already had probably 2 more meals! 

 

In the time of cavemen, they'd catch a buck and eat it. Then they might not eat for a day or two until they catch their next meal. Here we are with a constant supply of food, mostly crap food as well.

Nope. A brilliant marketing campaign by breakfast cereal makers to get you to buy their products.

 

The breakfast I have every morning comprises of 500g of double cream yoghurt plain yoghurt (unsweetened), 500ml of filter water, 1 small banana, 40g of nuts (mix of almonds, macadamia and cashews), and two big scoops of protein powder all blended together. In other words, high (good) fats and protein.

 

In the last month and half I've (only) dropped about 2-3kg, but... I look much visibly thinner around my middle. I am also working out with weights in the morning before work and do about 50-60 squats a day (half with extra weights), followed by a quick 30 minutes on the indoor trainer. My legs are probably the most muscular they've ever been. Always been pretty thin in the upper body, but still doing a few sets of weights.

 

Went lekker offtrack here, but yeah. Intermittent fasting def a good thing in my eyes. 

 

So, my progress has been slow, but I believe its the proper way of doing it. Slow and steady.

 

I challenge you all, pick one day a week, and try go 24 hours without food.

I have a new fad diet plan that has been scientifically proven to work.

 

It goes like such:

 

Calories consumed less Calories burned equals a Calorie surplus or a calorie deficit.

 

Need I explain the result of a daily Calorie surplus?
