probably need to get a 200mm stem at the same time... slammed of course

Remove the saddle, seat post and seat post clamp - going to be standing all the way anyway so who needs all that unnecessary weight

I had a good laugh now! Looks like the Dash is getting inside your head!

How light are your wheels? I may be able to organise a lighter spare set and bring them up for you.

Edit: Nevermind, I see you are already on Crests...

Have a wobbly crest at the back and Alex Rim DP21 in the front

Take half of the rotor bolts out of your back rotor, that's a few grams saved for free.

Topcap and star nut can go as well, as long as you've preloaded your headset properly.

Wobbly crests can be had for free from your LBS so your wheels can match at least. Make sure you rebuild with alu nipples for rotational weight saving.

Then the 'drillium' process can start. Rear mech, chain and cranks are great places to drill out a few grams - make sure you've got decent drill bits though, the Builders Warehouse specials won't cut it.

And I'm sure this doesn't really need saying, but a steady regimen of the devil's lettuce during the build will keep you motivated while allowing you to ignore everyone telling you you're crazy. Rather listen to the voices in your head.

Took the bike for a spin. Weight reduction from removing front brake was massive, so I removed the rear brake as well. Won't be going fast enough that I need to brake quickly.

Thinking of finding the cheapest set of carbon hoops I can find from china as well, any suggestions? They don't need to be good quality, just really cheap and last at least 1 race

why buy Dave, I'm sure a kind hubber will lend you a set, you seem like the kinda guy who would take care of the hoops - I'd lend you mine but I'm on an oil rig and can't send them unless you deposit a totally refundable USD5000 into my paypal account.  Can you wheelie? because then you won't even need a front wheel or fork and that would make your bike superlight - as posted above by others, don't worry about the haters, I'm on board
