Team MTN Energade confirms

commitment to South African cycling

Following some recent speculation

about the possible departure of some senior cyclists from Team MTN Energade,

Ryder Cycling can confirm that Malcolm Lange will be leaving the team

to form a new domestic team. Lange?s contract with MTN Energade runs

until the end of 2008.

?Malcolm has informed me

that he will be leaving the team and starting a new team,? said team

owner, Douglas Ryder. ?New sponsors are always welcome in the sport.

We appreciate Malcolm?s contribution and we wish him and his new team

the best.?

Ryder confirmed that the men?s

road team, which this year stepped up a level to become a UCI Continental

team, will continue its strategy of identifying and nurturing young

South African talent and exposing them to international racing, both

in Africa and abroad.

?We signed four new Under-23

riders for 2008 and have a firm focus on the future in which young riders

will play a key role. Some of our experienced riders have shown commitment

to helping develop the young riders and that kind of mentoring is invaluable,?

explained Ryder.

The MTN Energade men?s road

team has raced the Tour of Gabon, Tour of Egypt and Tour of Morocco

already this year and is confirmed to compete at The Tour of Ireland

in August and the Tour of Britain in September.

?Although local racing is

still firmly on our men?s road team schedule, we?re steadily building

an international team which will follow a busier international schedule

in 2009 and beyond,? said Ryder.

?In addition to our strong

showing with the men?s road team in 2008, we?ve also had immense

success this year with our new women?s team (19 wins in 21 races),

our mountain bike team (20 wins in 27 races) and our BMX star, Sifiso

Nhlapo (2nd at the European Championships Series and 3rd

at the World Champs). We have carefully planned growth strategies in

place for these teams too and are very encouraged by their early success,?

added Ryder.

MTN Energade and Ryder Cycling

are firmly committed to this very talented group of cyclists as well

as the growth of South African and African cycling.

Well done Doug, hopes this brings an end to the Banji saga. By the way Banji tell the hubbers what financial benefits this brought you.

Lonestar and Banji are the same person, they are wanted by interpol and hide in African countries under the guise of 'roadbuilders' while scamming people out of money using 419 schemes.

They also share a Tandem Big%20smile!
