Patchelicious Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 (edited) I seen the same testimonials from people who have tried the carnivore diet, abominable sh#ts for a week or so until it all settles "It’s a different thing, and with regular diarrhoea I would compare it to a fire you see coming a block or two away and you have the time to make an escape, whereas this carnivore diet is like out of nowhere the fire is coming through the cracks, your doorknob is red hot, and all hope is lost." https://www.menshealth.com/uk/nutrition/a30675936/joe-rogan-carnivore-diet-diarrhoea/ Edited November 3, 2020 by Patchelicious
Grass Muncher Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 Don't feed the troll.jirr jys n DP Elite As long as I've been on this thread I think that I'm one of the only vegans here, how can I be a troll????????♂️. It baffles me that we as humans today know so little about the human body. So I thought that if the human body might be designed to digest animal protein/plant protein effectively then our 'stool' can maybe tell us more if we compare it to the stools of other animals (especially human like animals) and how many times a day they poop.

IceCreamMan Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 (edited) 8 days full vegan... 2 kgs down. Watches are looser on my wrists. Water loss from less salt in diet i suspect. More comfrotable to get into the drops on my road bike. Entered Brighton marathon 2021 so need to shed some weight so lets see how this goes. Sad to say my poos are pretty much like they were before so cant add value in that regard. Edit: but i have noticed i dont get up in the middle of the night to pee anymore. Very interesting observation about the 3:00 pee fest no longer happening. This alone is worth converting to veganism. How old are you if you don't mind me asking. I'm 39 and sometimes I get up twice a night to go let the old snake wander in the pasture. Edited November 9, 2020 by DR ◣◢

I dont know why that is, and i guess its still to early to make a call on it as there are variables i probably have not thought of but it is a strange side effect. I also have stopped with the junk sweets and crap though, so might be related to that

Was there anything easier or more difficult going full vegan than you had first thought 9 days ago? Edit: apart from the peeing, thats a stunning victory Edited November 9, 2020 by Chris_
IceCreamMan Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 Wow, good job. Was there anything easier or more difficult going full vegan than you had first thought 9 days ago? Edit: apart from the peeing, thats a stunning victory Interesting question that. Had to think about it. To add, at this point its an experiment. I want to give it a month and see how it goes and how i feel. i was never a big meat eater or dairy consumer but i did like cheese, a whole pile. My motivation is relatively selfish in that i want to feel healthier and live better. ( so not from a moral aspect but thats a side benefit) It has been remarkably easy to adapt to it. We have a famers market in town for a few days a week so easy to get fresh whole foods. Another aspect is how easy i have taken to fruit and veggies and snacks are now carrots and monkey nuts. I also have an understanding spouse which is paramount i spose. Think the "mind" trick is not to feel deprived or that i am missing out on something. Chris_ 1

We also started with an experiment - the exact as you with asking what could the health benefits be. We found the intangible 'moral' aspects just kind of grew quietly in the background the longer we stuck with it. Its been an interesting shift. And I agree 1000% with your last statement - as soon as you feel hard done by then it becomes unsustainable. Thats cool, I look forward to later feedback IceCreamMan 1

The stereotypical vegan diet or pretty much just a ton of carbs?
IceCreamMan Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 (edited) what have you been eating. The stereotypical vegan diet or pretty much just a ton of carbs? What is a stereotypical vegan diet? serious question? I aint a food fundi so i dont know what is carbs (well apart from the main players like pastas etc) but herewith: Fruit for breakfast and pretty much fruit til lunch. Variety of fruit a la market. Roasted butternut, spinash and mushrooms. Lots of Avos Mushrooms Occassional roll or slice of bread. Soups...home made mainly tomato and veggie with a bit of pasta in it or baked potato. Green thai curries with veggies. Nuts and carrots to snack on That sort of thing. Eaten more fruit in a week than i have in a decade. Will get a proper cook book to ensure i eat correctly. Seems my wife going to try the apple too. Edited November 10, 2020 by IceCreamMan
Grass Muncher Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Thats nice, snaking on fruit the whole day is a nice approach. The standard vegan diet requires that you snack on fruit the whole day. The stereotypical diet would be the almond milk, salads and beans. The vegan failure rate is 84% so you basically pass when you die.
Rocket-Boy Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 I think that I'm one of the only vegans here, how can I be a troll♂. There are a few, Im assuming most just dont want to put up their hand because that would place them in the vegan team along with you?

Q: How do you know that someone does crossfit, is vegan, or has an MBA? A: They tell you. Some of us just choose to not shove it down everyone's throats. Wayne Potgieter and Rocket-Boy 2

IceCreamMan Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Vegan or vegetarian? Last time I made bread I used eggs You know what, i learn every day. I did not know that. I checked the bread ingredients and no eggs in the loaf we get which is a Hovis product. The rolls i had however may have had but i have thrown the wrapper away so i dont know. guess more research is needed in future. Thanks
