At least you spotted it before it failed on you while riding.

On an OCD side note, is that on the RH side of the frame, right behind the BB? If so, your gatorskin is on the wrong way around.

with attention to detail like that you should be a detective ????????

What size frame/bike do you ride?

Hi Andrew, I ride a Large. My Raleigh is a 58cm, but I'm sure a 57 will also do.

Does anybody know where I can rent a bike for the weekend?

Oh my soul LWB now that's impressive. Jip its on the drive side (right).

Lekker noob mistake on my side  . And just to put your OCD tendencies to rest, I will flip it around  :whistling:

In my job(as stated by SwissVan), if I miss a crack like that, you could die. My job rubs off to hobbies as well.

I've got a large (56cm) Cannondale CAAD 10, but thinking about it, the gears were a bit of a mess at Argus (the last time I rode it)

I have actually bought a second hand 10spd Ultegra groupset to replace it, but it's still sitting in a box in my study.

If you get desperate, I might be an option, but I would suggest a bike service as a minimum (I'm happy to pay for it, since it's much needed) but time is obviously limited. There is also the small issue of me heading to Comrades tomorrow morning... but the bike can easily be collected after that point if you do want to go this route. Sorry I can't be of more help

There are also I am sure bike rental options, but it's nothing I've ever looked into

Can't give you any specifics, but you are correct, it is a 2006 model and it is the Raleigh 7000, not RC7000.  The carbon frames never had the RC in front of the number.  The RC 7000 was an alu frame with carbon seat stays and a carbon fork, the RC6000 was a pure alu frame with blended welds and a carbon fork.  The little brother was the RC3000 was a stock standard alu frame with a carbon fork.

I know this because I bought my first road bike (Raleigh RC3000) early in 2007 and I remember drooling at its bigger brother (the one in your picture) that had the same paint job...  The top of the range Raleigh at the time was a yellow "Team edition" and the 7000 was the next one in line.

Have to disagree. My wife has a carbon raleigh and it is the RC6000C

I agree. One of the best looking out there. I had one, but it was too small for me. I sold the Ultegra and built it up with Campagnolo Centaur.

The same frame is also sold as a Karbona. If you Google the website, you'll find the weight there.
