While I will not be posting much about my commutes I will use the opportunity to show why I am not commuting at the moment.  Not going to do 35 km in this stuff and still have to work a normal work day.

First three pictures is the cyclepaths in our town.  The first pic was taken last night the rest this morning.  Although they have been cleared this morning it is still snowing.

These pics are in Munich close to my office.  Only the pedestrian walkway has been cleared and not the cyclepath.  As can be seen in the second pic, the streets that have been salted and cleared is already covered in fresh snow again.

Tell that to my maltese.  She simply dissappeared under the snow this morning.  Luckily she is on a leash otherwise I propably would only have seen her again in spring.

I will probably be dressed like an Eskimo going out in that weather.

It is actually not that cold.  It has been hanging around 0 to -2 the last day or two.  Tommorow will be a tad chilly at -6 but still not that bad.

While I am NOT a fan of the cold, that looks awesome. The scenery along those cycle paths looks like it should on a postcard.

It is stunning to say the least but simply put dangerous cycling in it.  Very slippery and obstacles hidden under the snow that you cant see.

Fatbike not an option?

It is an option to ride on the snow.  But for a 35 km one way commute ... no.  The commute will become a commute of closer to two hours where it is normally 1:15 and needles to say it will take it out of your legs.

  so -2 is not that bad...

At +5 I start losing feeling in my toes and fingers

I also got that feeling problem last year but that was standing at a station waiting for a delayed train in -18. ;)

Another drenched ride cut short this afternoon. Second proper bikewash this week. I've got one dry pair of cycling shoes left somewhere.

*squish*squish* Unfortunately I'm not so lucky. No better way to start your morning with damp shoes and socks.  :)
