Yoh bro, you lead a dangerous life!

Attacked 2 weeks ago by a vicious Labrador, knocked off your bike last week by a taxi, altercation with a taxi a few days ago.

The most exciting thing to happen to me in the last 2 weeks is getting a bone in my deboned fish fillet!

LMAO.....

Absolutely despise Taxis. I have started driving in a manner so as to piss them off.

Drive slow and as they want to overtake I accelerate again.

When they drive in the yellow line in peak traffic, I drive at an angle so they cannot get past me.

I keep hoping there could be a day or week where we all just go out of our way to obstruct them so much so as to force them to drive normally again.

My thoughts exactly .I am in the preservation of sight industry .You will not believe how many people drive and have a current drivers licence  ,that are not even close to legal visual limits .There is a part of the population that get their drivers licences from somewhere other than the route we know

Did this once only for the taxi driver to get out the car and come threaten me, with cars around and everything. Even though the chances are slim he'd have done anything more than threaten, it (sadly) is just not worth taking the chance.

So basically we're held hostage by these bullies. I do believe though that the majority of them are more hot air than anything but again, is it worth taking the risk?

If EVERYONE were to band together and revolt against the taxis and the way they're driving, we'd see a chance (maybe). It would also help if the Police were serious about bad driving etc. The use of drones is just one example of an easy way to monitor poor driving.

On another note, taxis are incredibly inefficient - transporting 15 (in theory) people 25 km in 45+ minutes rather than a train which would take 20 minutes...you don't need to be a rocket scientist to realise taxis are holding us back as a society.

Not everyone has a charmed life man. Just make do and count the blessings. Also I am not easily intermedated, which is most likely my problem.

I used to do this, it's just not worth it. You'd never get your money out should you be in a collision with these dickheads.

Anyway, this morning sitting in traffic 6 taxis drive down the road in the oncoming lane which got me thinking, how many taxis are on the damn roads!!

Do the authorities even know?? And then how many people make use of these taxis?? I'd love to see the numbers of how many passengers make use of how many taxis.

My last thought was how better off would South Africa be in terms of revenue is the cock suckers actually paid taxes??

And in closing, I occasionally use taxi's down from Woodstock to Claremont it's convenient I've never been in one where the driver drives like a tool... I feel that they need **** loads of education with regards to taking it easier, less maintenance on vehicles but because of competition and targets that will never happen.

I feel for the users of these taxis cause they honestly don't give a ****, one day I was putting my suspension to the test coming around the bend on the N2 coming into town past Golf Park, taxi parked against the inside wall dropping off a FLIPPEN PASSENGER in the fast lane and the aunty had to hold her tities and sprint over the road ... well I say sprint but you know what I mean! Thank **** for german engineering else she would have been tickets!!!

If everyone will have to start crawling in the yellow lane during peak  hour to prevent the taxis to come racing past. It is the only way unfortunately seeing as traffic police cant do anything about it. But just drive in the taxi lane when you not supposed to, then you get issued a fine. Why cant those cameras be used to capture the yellow lane speedsters?

As much as it pains me to say this, but it is not our job to enforce laws (Yes I know that our law enforcement officers aren't really doing a good job of it). Rather we need to abide by them.

Having said that though, not everybody will stand by and do nothing. The problem with acting out is that there can be dire consequences.

Pinetown mans shot in road rage incident

My wife knows an eye witness to the incident and apparently both drivers got out of their vehicles after a prior incident, the taxi driver pulled a gun, shot the other man in the stomach and again in the head and drove off.

I used to try and make their lives difficult but getting home alive means more to me than the satisfaction gained from an altercation with a taxi driver.

I realize that this is a long shot, but rather be an example as a law abiding citizen, Hopefully that behavior rubs off on someone and makes a difference.

here in Magalies...which is kind of half way from Krugersdorp to Rustenburg, if you want to go to Rustenburg you first of all have to take a taxi to Krugersdorp to get on a taxi to Rustenburg which then passes through Magalies again...!

What he said.....

I have two daughters who are in the car with me most of the times and I'd hate for them to be caught up in something like that.

I'd love to know what it's going to take before the authorities actually do something about the Taxi industry?

I've thought of all out sabotage of a parking lot where a few taxi's park already. Only reason I didn't go through with it was that I'm scared of jail, being someone's biaatch isn't really my thing.

But there again passengers complain they don't listen.

It's going to take a passenger strike for them to listen and even then it will be the passengers that suffer the most.

If the Government was serious about Taxis they wouldn't even worry about our cause. They would simply try and tax them first. The fact that nobody even talks about this industry in parliament shows that there is other motives or fear.
