i dream about a chair lift at Jonkershoek or Tokai...

Well at least they are pushing their own bikes, usually the Enduro guys get ski lifts or hop on the back of bakkie to get up a hill.

So I did this segment on Saturday morning.

Anything like this in #enduro #gnarlyAF #shuttleFTW or is it usally much shorter?

Would take forever to walk and you would be totally fried

Depends which enduro event you attend. Some descents in Lesotho were longer and steeper. But RSA away from Drakensburg simply will not have the elevation to give you a descent like that. Jonkershoek has however got one if you go all the way to the top and descend back to the parking lot.

Yes, local to CT events are usually shorter in the descending department. Going full tilt down a 7km descent is brutal but there are longer stages in EWS and other Enduro stage races eg 11km and longer with 1500m of descending in one stage. In the Alps a segment like yours is normal. I rode one that while not super technical was 5km long with 900m of descending...

edit: sorry I missed the fact that the segment was a climb. I hope it got ridden really fast on the way back down...

Yup

Thats why I am asking, to walk/push up something like that will take forevaaaa

ah, right. yes you are correct.

Personally i would half ride, half push, depending on what end of the Enduro race I find a climb such as that

that is pretty cool ... and the general vibe around this point is ever cooler!

Yes, because falling off is all part of having fun ( and hopefully learning from the experience) Too many mountain bikers are so **** scared of falling they would rather stay away from a piece of trail or feature than learn how to ride it properly.

Like a little walk on Table Mountain before work according to some of the enduro boys

Hey, don't knock it till you try it. I swear every time the cSixx bakkie comes back up Kloof Road to take the boys back for another run of the Glen on TM. Nothing beats shuttles & lifts for improving your descending capabilities.

That’s basically the climb up to Saaltjie @Jonkers. The top part has some lekker loose gravel to keep you humble.

You have to do that at least twice if you want to have some fun.
