catherine123 Posted March 22, 2019 Share Hi Guys, Have a Scott Aspect 630 with Schwalbe 26 x 2.10 tyres. Current inner tube is a 27.5 with a Presta Valve. What do I get as spare tubes? Struggling to find the correct size and width inner? Sportsmans is no help. Thanks!

DJR Posted March 24, 2019 Share Somewhat off topic? I find tube sizes very forgiving. I have used a 26er tube on both a 650B and a 29er in an emergency. Also even used a 650B tube in a 26er. Small 1.9 tubes also work just fine in a 2.4 mtb tyre. I even carry a 26er tube as a back up spare on my 650B trail bike. On the road, I have fitted skinny tubes into 32mm tyres and fat tubes into skinny 25mm tyres. None of that is ideal, but works in an emergency. That way, even if you have 29" wheels your spare tube will work for anyone riding with you. Rule of thumb is that smaller tubes work for bigger wheels but not the other way around. Tubes don't mind stretching, but a big tube folded into a small tyre runs a higher risk of snake bites when inflating because of all the extra folds. Easier to carry and works well. Grease_Monkey
