This morning a gas truck exploded in Worcester, WC.

Several links are on the latest news thread.

But the link below mentions a bike shop was also damaged.

Anyone with contacts that can find out more details? Which is the bike shop that comments on here every now and then?

The new article says Bike Boutique. Maybe not Manic Cycles ?

First thing I checked when I saw that, it is a motorbike shop in Worcester... slight relief.

That is great news for the bicycle shop.

Not such good news for the motorbike shop

I know Manic well hence the concern

don't know the motorcycle shop but hope that they're insured and will continue in business and that their people are in good health. That inferno would have done a lot of damage to property, stock and injured people nearby just from the heat let alone those directly contacted by it.

Not a lekker situation for the town as a whole

That is right in an industrial area.  Sure many small businesses were impacted in some way or other ....

Thankfully Manic, Kings cycles and the Trek dealer all far away from the Agri.

No is right in the main street. 4 Stores burned down, as well as Dept of Water Affairs. But yes, no where close to the centre of town. Also luckily happened early at about 06:20

But then again, Worcester has a bit of a unique "Main Street" ....

From Drostdy to the turn towards Robertson is a "traditional" main street.  Though the street carries on straight, after the Robertson turn robot the area turns from "city" to "industrial".

Cant remember the precise distance from that robot to the Agri ... about 1km ?

And then the road turns left, later joining up with the N1 again ....

Incident happened near the pin drop.

3 people injured, 2 of them firemen. The fallout from this is going to be rough. HKGK.

I reckon this will be a case study in my next Dangerous Goods Transportation course.
