I did the W2W many years ago and since then moved to another country.  Just seen that there are still entries available for all 3 events for 2019 whereas it would normally be completely sold out long beforehand.

Is there a reason as to why its not sold out?  The cost is not that much higher than prev years..

Has anyone done the luxury tents before?  Is it worth it?  We did standard tents the last time, but some comfort would be nice.

Yeah I have done it 5 times, with brakes in be tween, I have done the camping 5 out of 5, love it.

But am getting accomadation this time round.

I think numbers in all multi stage events has gone down, accross S.A. I think generally its a case off done it a few times so why would you fork out money again for same route. Is generally a lekker race and prefer it to sani2 C.

Last year the finish for stage 3 the race was moved because of protesters....they have made it

Onrus caravan park again.

Cant wait, going to put my bro in the hurt box( he said he wants mace....or was it to race?)

Anyhoo great event, kamp staaldraad not so bad.

"Many years ago" it was probably only 1 or 2 events, now there are 3 so that give some perspective. Still a massively popular event.

As others said, numbers are down for all cycling events. Just about every event that sold out quickly 3 or 4 years ago that doesn't anymore. Epic and Trans-Baviaans the 2 exceptions I can think of.

Mind you its only the Epic's early bird entries that sell out in seconds. The remaining 500 are on a lottery basis and even then there is still entries available a month before the event
