Does anyone have any experience with Ohlins forks. They are among the best when it comes to motorcycles but have never seen them on a MTB. They are for sale locally in Milnerton, Cape Town post-95256-0-97793100-1567152927_thumb.jpg

Ohlins made the headlines a little while back with their move to MTB:

Then some bad stuff happened:

And to be honest I'm not totally sure what happened after that. But just do your homework if you're thinking of buying.

would be interesting to hear what the retail of these are at MP in SA, seeing that they are not a totally bicycle related company that have stock...so probably would not feel inclined to put a 2000000% markup on items lol

Seems that they have it under control. It’s a simple fix with a torque wrench at any spaz dealer

More bicycle industry KoolAid.

Ohlins suspension has been winning world championships since 1978, the first hydraulic mtb brake was only made in 1987

Trust me there's a reason they're on nearly every racing car/motorcycle/atv and soon to be mtb's

Sounds like the fan boi choir that preceded their less than spectacular entry in the mtb market, which turned out to be more of a shitshow than anything else.

What issues did they have on their earlier Mtb forks?

What issues did they have on their earlier Mtb forks?

Big batch didn't get their top caps properly torqued in the factory and started working themselves loose

Drop of lock tite and proper torque and you were good

Nothing dire like lowers snapping or adjusters getting stuck

What issues did they have on their earlier Mtb forks?

Bushings out of tolerance, too tight fitting.

Rear shocks blowing* up.

And the torque ‘non-issue’

Edit: *not literally blowing up.

I just went to MP Suspension to buy a 120mm 34 fork. They are 12k for a boost fork. Non boost forks are on special for only 9k.

They look special, and the feedback from others has been very, very good
