Dexter-morgan Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 I would go for the Merida, the gearing is better, the 1 x 10 is not nice, ranges between gears are too big for a Newbi and as your skill improves you will appreciate the good suspension on the Merida. Just my 2c

Warrenlee Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 The merida is the way to go out of the two. I rode the Stratos once and it never had a 'wow' factor to it. Don't rule out a Scott Spark. Great bikes and you can get them on the hub for really good value.

Looks... well in alu with that pice of plastic gutter running down the frame on the Stratos, that alone is enough for me to choose any other bike. I really hope the next model will just have internal cables like the carbon Stratos.

The new gen Scott is great but, he has to spend a little more you don't really want anything under the Spark 950.
