mecheng89 Posted March 17, 2020 Share Good evening Hubbers! Now that I have a bit more time before R2TS, it seems I can put a bit more money away for some gravel goodies! Who owns seatpost suspension? From the research I've done, there are two on the market at the moment - https://www.srsuntour.com/products/seatposts/SP17-NCX-6316.html https://gravelandtour.co.za/product/shockstop-suspension-seatpost/ What's the opinion out there? hansolo Posted March 17, 2020 Share I think there could be a market for a suspension dropper post. It cant be too difficult make this work...
Martin PJ Posted March 18, 2020 Share I have been using one for a few years, it is a cheap Aliexpress one. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000664865842.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.31676dd4xoHCfJ&algo_pvid=3a2832f7-2dc6-4a29-82fd-e8f20f4dcb8a&algo_expid=3a2832f7-2dc6-4a29-82fd-e8f20f4dcb8a-3&btsid=0ab6d70515845084447258898e425e&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_ It works very well and has about 4 to 5 cm of travel. It is different to the links you posted in that it goes directly up and down, no forward or back motion. It is easy to service, the basic design is a very stiff spring inside the seatpost shaft. MORNE Posted March 18, 2020 Share I think there could be a market for a suspension dropper post. It cant be too difficult make this work...the first time i saw a dropper work i thought "why is it not just suspension with a type of lockout too?"but that would mean the bike industry would have to give you something that does more than one thing and is not proprietary in its function....and that would mean they would be loosing out of selling you something else (read new and improved and premium) for the other/second function lol Edited March 18, 2020 by morneS555 Duane_Bosch

droo Posted March 18, 2020 Share Both my reverbs got like that before they needed a service. It isn't nice. You beat me to it. Thudbuster or the bendy carbon posts (there are a few) are your best option - they keep the distance to the pedals constant so you don't end up with fit issues. Telescoping posts are fine for commuting, but for proper riding you'll most likely end up with injuries. Definitely on the short list, not that the list is very long

DieselnDust Posted March 18, 2020 Share Nice, Thudbuster looks like a pretty solid product. Definitely on the short list, not that the list is very long I still have one that dates back to 2001. Its been a flexible performer over the years.fantastic product

If set up correctly there is no way a solid post will feel more comfortable......no way Shebeen
