Trek vs specialised

Hi everyone, can someone advise me which of the 2 bikes would be better. 2017 Trek Marlin 7 or 2020 Specialised Rockhopper. Im not much worried about the components as I have my own 1x11 drivetrain, Lyne dropper post and Shimano MT 200 brakes which I will probably fit once i have made my choice. In fact does the frame matter much or is it all about the components. Thank in Advance.

I would go for the 2020 model, modern geo etc

The Trek thou a older model still has better geometry than the the spez. Trek is a degree slacker and little longer this will help with stability and the trek just looks better and you won't be labeled as a Spaz rider????????
