Regarding the commentary, I was wondering what dynamic of these two Aussies makes it a bit cringe worthy.

Ant McCrossen sets his co-commentator up nicely with observations, and it is normally a technique that work well. Except here, Simon Gerrans then just repeats the sentence exactly before he adds his own observation.

Just run with it, we know what Ant said, just add to it.

Disclaimer: I will be horrible at it.

The time from Kung is going to stand for a long time. I can only see Wout and/or Tadej unseating him.

Commentators curse.

The time from Asgreen stands.

His little tanty is really being blown out of proportion

Even with click bait type of pics to lure you in

LIBOURNE FRANCE JULY 16 Mark Cavendish of The United Kingdom and Team Deceuninck QuickStep Green Points Jersey Gendarmerie takes a photo during the 108th Tour de France 2021 Stage 19 a 207km stage from Mourenx to Libourne Selfie LeTour TDF2021 on July 16 2021 in Libourne France Photo by Tim de WaeleGetty Images

This is a better view of the incident, with audio so you can hear his little tantrum and hear him screaming in the bus.

I think he's shown his true colors, and all the humble words were only half of the story. Maybe still genuine, but tarnished by the other side of his personality cos it's tough to imagine that this is an isolated outbreak.

I think Gerrans was a great rider, and has a lot of insights, but hasn't learnt to be a good commentator... yet. It must be flippen hard to stay focused and not talk nonsense when you have to speak for 5 hours. Especially if you're kind of an introvert that doesn't naturally talk the whole time, which I think is his personality type based on the bits we saw of him on the old Greenedge backstage passes.

Hard to see the maillot jaune come close to the TT specialists after all the high intensity in the mountains.

Go, Wout!

Standard from Cav and not the 1st time.

When you know how hard staff work - especially soigneurs and mechanics at a race; never mind the Tour, you do not speak to or treat them like this and not in public.

Fully agreed. I saw this and immediately figured out that there's no change, just a great PR person in the background.

And don't blame your mechanic because you chose to ride a ### bike

Enjoy the TT day everyone.

Tadej and WvA the obvious one's to watch for the Win.

Some shuffling expected in the final Top 10 on GC.

I couldn't chose between Taddie and Groot so I flipped a coin and Taddie won. Hope he comes through for me

It is not isolated, he has a volatile temperament and sometimes he just explode.

It is not uncommon for sprinters to be like that. There are also you tube videos of Peter Sagan kicking a vehicle, Marcel Kittel smashing a bike into the ground, Mario Cippollini throwing a water bottle at an official on a motorbike etc etc.

I think sometimes we expect too much from sportstars and forget that they are only humans who perform under extreme pressure at the cutting edge of their sport.

Wout fastest at 1st time check, hope he didn't start too hard !

Wout is really good at managing his efforts. If anyone can top Asgreen's time it'll be between him and Pogacar. Will be interesting to see how they go but I think they'll be right up there.

Yip I suspect it's going to be Pogacar, can Hurt and As Green on the stage podium

That'll be quite the top three. Personally would be happy if it works out that way.
