Does Dirt rider have gears?

I know he usually rocks that bike out SS

Yes he does, internal gearbox in the rear hub

I see H Visser had a fall, had to walk for 4hrs to RV and then the medics only let him go after another 4hrs.  Sad as he was up there in p2 at the time. He was flying after that but with a busted saddle and tyre issues I thought he should scratch.

But then....... they are made of sterner stuff than us.

A Rohloff for this sort of thing is perfect.

It would be my weapon of choice too re gears as you don't have to carry.

Nice piece of kit. Lifetime warranty on the internals too... You send them your internals through their shipping account and they send you a refurbished one, new oil, new plastic drive bushings and a new sump plug/grub screw.

Chantal Wooding is a cycling acquaintance, she is currently the second last lady on the road.  She posted just before 6 this morning that she pushed her bike for +/-25km between WP2 and RV1, there was a section with deep sand, and she came off 4 times, so decided to walk. She is still positive and pushing to Britstown.

She is also a friend of mine, been following her progress too. She commented how twisty the trails were and that you couldn't distinguish between hardpack and soft sand in the dark....she is doing well for a first time racer.

If my memory serves me correct its a 14spd speedhub made by Rohloff.
