Runner vs Cyclist

Thanks Porks, I'll wind the brooms in a couple of feet on each side to show good will.

Do you not squirt the power walkers as you go by, though?

Nice sniping with the granny comments.

Haa, Haa, JL, I like your sense of humour, maybe not your "position" on runners but hey I can live with that.!

.............as for the power walkers.....................the less said the better.!

JL, how you doing?I'm with you on this one, do you think we can get a bulk deal on the brooms, might be something Delboy can investigate??

Went for a ride the other morning and nearly ploughed into some folks running 3 abreast (Yes, I did have lights and I did smile sweetly and say Hullo). The worst is having to swing out into the traffic to avoid them cause there was no way they were going to move and it makes sense for them to have to move as they can see the oncoming traffic.

What do the runners on this site think the "correct procedure" should be and is this not something we can work out between the running and cycling clubs?

I ride with a guy who imports broom handles by the container load.

They're great for sticking through the spokes of %^&*ing cyclists... You

throw 'em at a bunch of the buggers like a javelin and then watch the fun!

jmaccelari - can you organise us all some - we'll all need double - one batch for on our cars to deal with the runners, and one batch in our hands to deal with the cyclists!

oh, and those of us with motorbikes will need extra for when we're on our bikes to deal with drivers....

Over here in Bedfordview runners are a plague.  The residents don't just feel they own the road they feel they own everything.  So whatever mode of travel we adopt we're a complete pain and always right.

I regularly pass the Bedfordview runners on my training rides out that way. They are responsible in the sense of group training and staying on the side of the road, opposite the traffic.

But they should stock up on some lights and reflective wear for heaven's sake! I got 2 of those flashing, reflective clip on lights in goodie bags at races during the year and I use mine. Surely the runners get them at races too.

So that's sorted then, broom handles all round is the solution to all road-user problems.  Next up we're gonna fix the Middle East problem.

Hi R2 - where are Clint and the Colnago Three riding this weekend?

Yep - but we'll probably need to insert the broom handles elsewhere...

D'ya reckon it could sort out Zim as well? "Mr President, your broom

handle has arrived..."

This is something that really bothers me as well. I doubt it will ever get resolved though.

Just like you will never get ALL the cyclists to stop at red traffic lights and to ride in single file on narrow roads.

Geez Spud.. that's a bit harsh.  IMO runners are the friendly ones and cyclists the arrogant ones.... except MTB'ers of course Smile

Had an idiot coming up behind us this morning (3 of us running) shouting "track! track! track!".  Didn't know there was a race going on where he was going to loose valuable time...

Cyclists are by far more arrogant than runners.
