It was pretty hard from the start, after Tirreno-Adriatico and Milan-San Remo without a longer break. I’m a little bit tired now. But I’m very happy for this victory. It’s a good start to the season, especially for what happened in the last two months. It was not easy, but now it looks nice.”

Sagz Baby

Virtual hugs everywhere

Team put in one hell of a shift today.. Worked hard during the stage and made sure they closed down those late attacks towards the end.. Fantastic stuff hey.

"Congratulations to Peter Sagan and the entire BORA-hansgrohe squad for their performance, effort and the victory in today's stage. It was truly a team victory and it wasn't an easy one. With Mohorič and other strong riders in the breakaway as well as all the climbers in the chase it was hard to calculate the effort. In the middle of the race there was a section with winding roads, up and down, and we were afraid Mohorič would be able to take the win. That's why we went all in from the middle of the race to bring the break under control and in the final kilometres once again we witnessed a fantastic effort by the entire team. It's worth mentioning that it's not often that a GC rider like Wilco Kelderman pulls in the finale of a sprint stage. That was the way we wanted to win and that's how we won. Peter topped off this effort with an excellent sprint. He timed it very well, he waited for the right moment and made the perfect move. I think we saw today the Peter Sagan we always knew. It was a very good day for BORA-hansgrohe" – Christian Pömer, Sports Director

Ineos lockout!

Nobody really put them under pressure during the race. Only Movistar tried, the other teams were pretty non existent. Adam Yates hardly broke a sweat after stage 3.  Not taking anything away from them, it was an excellent team performance.

They controlled it very well and marked out Valverde, was always going to be difficult for movistar. Team performance it was

The thing is, it's a different kind of 'control' to the Sky days.

They still throw guys up the road, race for wins and basically aren't a snoozefest train like they used to be.

I'm really enjoying their new approach. Carapaz, Bernal, Pidcock all getting amongst it at the classics, Ganna and the crazy aussie getting out front etc....

It is difficult for me to admit but I am enjoying them.

Movistar just did stuff with no real plan. They are such a weird team, almost comical at times.
