Help needed please - tire popping out

I have been riding this Schwalbe Marathon plus for ages and this is happening.

The tire is setup tubeless and fitted to a DT Swiss rim.  I am riding with 3.5 Bar and the rating is 4 - 6 Bar.

Why is the tire popping out in places?

Structural failure of the sidewall. You're going to need to replace the tire.

 

Should be replaced under warrantee if it's new enough.

I would guess that as a consumable, the tire has run it's course.

They do actually pop/burst on that bubble. Happened to a mate when we were riding. His lasted a couple hundred meters after he noticed the bulge. So I'd suggest not using it again.

Second time this has happened to me with the Marathon Plus using different rims.  Must be doing something wrong.

Wont be using Marathon Plus tires again, still plenty tread left.

Too scared to use it so it will be chucked.

Just a thought - I see it's rated for between 4 and 6bar but you're running at 3.5bar. Could this not be flexing the sidewall too much causing the delamination?

 

This reminds me of running the chinese Chaoyang snakeskin tyres at 8bar and wondering why the ribbing near the rim was coming off in strands. Only to read the tyre's sidewall - max 7bar

Yes, Low pressure cause the casing to flex excessively, leading to premature wear.
